Enjoy gorgeous summer and winter views from the wrap around deck, living room, dining room, kitchen or master bedroom with its French glass doors and adjacent spa room. Relax on your very own private beach in a Japanese style gazebo surrounded by wisteria, roses and exotic plants with adjacent cast iron pot-bellied stove for casual use; e.g., roasting marshmallows/somores. Fish off your private dock while your children play on the sandy beach. Barbeque on the gas grill and dine on the wrap around deck overlooking lake and mountain. Catch a glimpse of a Great Blue Heron, Eagle, Osprey or Hummingbird. Enjoy all recreational water sports; e.g., skiing, tubing, jet skiing, fishing, etc. Enjoy the "Rails for Trails" bike/walking trail in the neighborhood. See below for many local attractions.
Central air conditioning. Boat dock space is available. Row craft (kayak/canoe) for guests. Electrical appliances include dishwasher, stove, frig, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer & curling iron, T.V., DVD, clothes washer, clothes dryer, pot-belly stove on beach (with kindling/wood provided),ceiling fan and motion detector light in the 2-car driveway. A good sized selection of DVD movies and a collection of books is available. Kitchen equipment and towels are provided. Landscaping includes many variety of flowers and several gardens; e.g., English Cottage, etc. See below for many local attractions. The on-site custodian will take your trash away for small fee. (An automatic stand-alone generator is on-site, just in case of a power loss.)
Activities:
A scenic "Rails for Trails" bike/walking trail, a charming country Internet Cafe known for its hospitality and home made pastries/baked goods. Several restaurants are within a short car or boat ride. Nearby are: 2 golf courses; 6 Flags Amusement Park; the Springfield Museum & Dr. Seuss' Sculpture Garden; Basketball Hall of Fame; the Northampton/Amherst 5 colleges area; the Mark Twain/Harriet Beecher Stowe House/Museum; Old Sturbridge Village; the Norman Rockwell Museum; the Connecticut Science Museum and Westfield Children's Museum (both very hands-on), scenic Stanley Park, etc. Popular in Fall are the Eastern States Exposition & The Mohawk Trail's (Berkshire Mountains) lovely Fall foliage. Winter brings snow mobiling; ice skating; ice fishing & cross country skiing. Ski Sundown is a 25 minute drive while Butternut or Catamount are about an hour’s drive. About a 90-minute drive are Boston, MA (via Mass Turnpike) or Tanglewood (Boston Symphony's Summer home).
