Easy drive to many locations we like to visit. There is a wider view of the mountains. There was a momma bear and two cubs that walked by the cabin. The cabin has everything you need, plenty of space. Both bedrooms are huge with plenty of storage for clothes etc. The downstairs master has a step-in shower which is a must for us. We had two minor issues - first day the toaster blew and later the hot tub had a minor issue. Both times the response was immediate and the problem resolved. We received texts with a time a worker would be there and a call after they left. A brand new toaster was delivered in a couple of hours and a tech (extremely friendly...Mark?) was there just as fast to fix the hot tub. I will say, the living room furniture is due to be replaced. It is very worn, saggy couch and not at all comfortable. I also think the cleaning needs to come up a notch. At first glance it looks great, but you start to look a little closer and you notice things. Corners are a little grungy, there was clipped hairs in the bathroom drawers, and even a beer bottle cap was left in the bottom of the hot tub. There was a grill outside that we used several times that worked great. It is a bit of a drive down a very windy road to any amenities but they are all there...great grocery store, liquor store, and gas. There is a good steakhouse - The Alamo - a bit farther as well. One night coming home a black bear walked right out in the road in front of us! The Artist Loop is very close and a great place to shop for quality gifts. But the combination of no land line phone for emergency communications, no cell signal, no voice over IP ability on our particular AT&T sumsung phones thus no voice or text ability, 8 to 9 degree max road slopes (per truck's computer), and icey roads are not a good mix. We did manage to stay on the roads with a truck with all terrain tires but I had slippage and it was diffict to climb up one evening in 1st gear. My wife also fell down the smooth polyeurathaned inside wood steps. I recommend grip socks in winter since no socks is too cold for some on the wooden floors in areas. Due to construction for eye appeal, noise travels from room to room and floor to floor easily. So our young kids walking aroung upstairs sounded like a 400lb person from the downstairs bedroom. 1 kitchen chair has a padded seat that can fall off. That was a minor issue. Biggest upgrade for the property would be a cheap land line phone for emergencies. Side issue for F150 and some F250 owners. 2015-19 year range have a recall on doors that freeze and can stay unlatched. So even with the recall repair previously performed, 2 mornings my door would not latch closed. I could not call a dealership for a temporary fix or a tow truck. I drove down the icey mountain roads with rope holding the door mostly shut to the lower seat base track. WD40 used after the first day did not prevent a repeat on the next morning." I chose that one in particular because of the ability to walk into the ground floor without using stairs, as we had some elderly folks for whom stairs are a problem. The property was clean. It's clearly not brand new -- there's wear and tear -- but overall in good condition. The dining table space is a bit tight -- hard to get into the kitchen if everyone's sitting at the table. It was fine for 3 people but probably not a good choice for a big group. The view out the back is of a lovely patch of forest. The location was great -- far enough from everything else for some privacy and social distancing, but not that far of a drive to get down to restaurants and stores. The Arts and Crafts area of town is great for exploring local shops, and is far removed from the insane crowds of the downtown strip. We highly recommend driving the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail -- it was wonderfully scenic. The Rampant Lion pub had very good fish and chips. The management company was great to work with. King beds are a rare find with cabin rentals, so that was an extra nice feature. I was particularly impressed with the management company. Upon arriving, our key code we received via text didn't work. I called and someone picked right up and reset it within a minute. When we returned from dinner (The Fox and Parrot, an authentic English Pub just a couple of miles away, definitely worth a visit.) we had a small issue with a smoke detector (low battery beeping, nothing major). It was installed very high and we were unable to reach it ourselves to replace the batteries. I sent a text to the office just to make them aware, thinking maybe someone could come by the next day with a ladder but they replied right away and had someone come over (at 10pm) and resolve the issue. We have stayed in various cabins in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area for over 20 years and this was our favorite experience so far. I will be recommending Elk Springs Resort to anyone travelling to TN in the future. My mom uses a walker so a cabin with a no step access and a bedroom on the main floor is a must. Touch of Class has a nice parking space and easy access to get into the cabin. Main floor bedroom was set up well. The only problem we found was with the very low commode and no safety bars in the bathroom. A high rise commode and safety bars would make this cabin much more accessible. Other than that it was a great cabin! Nice big rooms. Comfortable beds. Great location. The furniture was nice but the wooden table could use a nice pad to protect the surface. Would love to come back, especially if main floor bathroom had some handicap updates. The "A Touch of Class" cabin at Elk Springs Resort was a suitable option for us, rather than a hotel. The cabin had plenty of space for us to spread out, with all the amenities we needed (stocked kitchen, linens, towels, etc...). The pool table and hot tub were a big hit for all of us, and the great view from the deck was also nice. The location of Elk Springs is conveniently located about 10 minutes from Gatlinburg. As the area gets very congested with traffic, we were happy to stay a bit out of town. There was a local grocery store 5 minutes from the cabin, and we had easy access to back roads to Pigeon Forge too. We were able to save money in this very tourism-driven area by preparing some of our meals at the cabin - something you can't do at a hotel. All in all, it was a great stay for us. The one thing I'd point out is that both bathrooms in this cabin are inside the bedrooms, and the main floor bathroom has no door within the master bedroom. For our family this wasn't an issue, but since the cabin sleeps 8, it's worth noting for future guests. Bathroom visits in the night for those on the pull out couch could be uncomfortable."
