Our guests are always saying "Creekside" is like having you own personal State Park.
It sets on 10 beautiful acres in the piney woods of East Texas. The land is hilly and the spring fed creek and lake are cool. It is not uncommon to see deer, rabbit and a variety of birds including Hawks during your stay.
The creek runs a good length of the property and has bridges over it and the various dry gulley’s. There’s a small dam and scattered benches along the creek that offer perfect places to sit and enjoy the quiet surroundings. The creek sets under a canopy of mature pines, oak, sassafras and Dogwood trees. The autumn colors in November can be surprisingly beautiful. Of course the spring time boast Dogwood trees that make those 60 degree April days look more like a fresh snowfall just occurred. Throw in the redbuds and you’ll know why we moved to the area.
On the higher end of the property you will see a vastly different landscape. Still tree covered and hilly with pines and oaks you will see the occasional cactus. The area is more open and suitable for tossing a ball or playing games. The house has horseshoes complete with stands to place you beverages while enjoying a game with friends or family.
The rear of the home boast a 16x 24’ raised deck with perimeter lighting. We have a Webber charcoal grill, a table and chairs. As you walk off the rear deck you’ll see a pathway that leads to a 12x14’ deck overlooking the cool shaded creek. Of course, if you get tired you can sit on the bench for a breather or enjoy the hammock for that well deserved rest. The decks have pathway lighting as well as outlets for music or laptops.
I would have to say the outside is where most people want to spend time but the inside deserves to be enjoyed as well. As you enter the home you will notice the large open floor plan. The home is clean and comfortable. The kitchen has a breakfast room , granite counters and modern cooking, micro and dishwasher. The two bedrooms are large and have comfortable pillow top mattresses, ceiling fans, radios, televisions and dvd players.
The living room t.v. offers Netflix instant streaming and Pandora as well as a handful of over the air channels in H.D. The home has wireless internet and a phone with local calling. The utility area has a washer and dryer.
