The beach is public (State) property below border fence post. Lake Weir is over 20 feet deep at normal water level. Common techniques are good for bass, and many anglers prefer to troll live shiners in deep waters near the shore. Brush fish attractors have been placed at 10 sites in 10 to 20 feet of water.

"Great place to stay for a fishing trip. Myself and four friends rented this house from February 23 - 29, 2008. This house is centrally located between many different bass fishing lakes in Florida which include Lakes like: Weir, Harris, Griffin, Lake Bryant, All the ocala national forest lakes and the ocklawaha river. We came back with two fish over 8 lbs. Lake weir is beautiful and a great fishery. I would recommend this place to anyone interested in bass fishing or just a great vacation on a small Florida lake. Jun 27, 2008 - Tara Bailey "Had a great time at the lake. We were not able to stay the whole week however for the weekly rate the place was still worth it. We have a 21' I/O and never had a problem getting the boat in and out due to water levels. The cottage has plenty of room for a family and additional guests in a seperate building if needed. The host that live by the cottage have hospitality that just shines. The water is clear and great swimming for kids. Great place on the actual lake that you can relax and be close to alot of places to go if you wish to venture out. Th Terrio's, Middleburg, Florida August 2008"

Sleeps 4 easily in main building; has clothes washer. We had inflatable boat; what a riot to get it in the water because I'm not small! rofl Owners are great, very accommodating, as well as caretaker. Will return!"
