After doing research and interviews for my books (My Mom's Making History and Jameer), I stayed at the cottage to have quiet concentrated time to do the writing. Some things I particularly cherished are watching the sunrise over the lake as I awoke early in the morning, the lulling sound of the waves, eating on the dock and watching the sailboats and ducks drift by whenever I needed a break. Once I settled in with food, my computer and papers, there was no reason to leave. It has all the comforts and amenities right at hand, including friendly helpful neighbors.
