Contact advertiser for specific directions.  Description Charming one to three bedroom cottages nestled under ancient pines and towering maples on 1.6 acres of perennial gardens and manicured lawns on picturesque Indian Lake in the Adirondack Mountains of New York - one of the last great wilderness areas in the northeast. We are located in the tiny hamlet of Sabael. We have a post office and general store within walking distance. The hamlet of Indian Lake is 4 miles north on Route 30 where there are restaurants, a local food market (IGA), hardware store and other sundries. Burke's cottages are located in Sabael on Indian Lake and are approximately 200 feet to our private beach with swim float and boat dock (for our customers) for a 20' boat. Canoes are on the beach for your use as well as life jackets and paddles (all free of charge). A small Marina is nearby for rentals. Cottages are comfortably furnished with fully equipped kitchens, beds from twins to king depending on cottage, some with woodstoves or fireplaces in the living rooms, some with covered decks, screened porches or large uncovered deck. All have picnic tables, adirondack chairs, charcoal grills and wonderful views of Indian Lake. The waterfront area also has an observation deck and seating area with campfire pit...all with marvelous views of pristine wilderness areas and Baldface mountain across the lake. Indian Lake is 14 miles long and 1 mile wide with smaller islands sometimes used for state campsite or public picnic areas. Approximately 15% of our lake shore is privately owned. The views opposite are of "forever wild" wilderness areas. One week minimum rental during summer months (mid-June through Labor Day); two night minimum rest of year, except 3 nights holiday weekends. Cottages are fully insulated for year-round usage. The snowmobile trail between Indian Lake and Speculator runs down Indian Lake (usually frozen after Christmas) and can also be used for cross country skiing in season. There are 2 golf courses nearby as well as numerous hiking trails. A perfect spot for relaxation or experiencing the serenity of the surrounding wilderness. Sorry, we do not allow pets. We do not provide towels or linens (blankets and pillows supplied). This beautiful property has just been subdivided and some of the cottages pictured are now for sale.
